Leeds United, Manchester United and Newcastle United want to sign Leon King, but the Rangers defender has decided to commit his long-term future to the Ibrox club, according to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that King, on the radar of Leeds, Manchester United and Newcastle, has agreed a new contact with Rangers until June 2026.

Romano has added that the 18-year-old Scottish defender will sign the new deal in the coming days.

This development on the future of the Rangers defender will come as a blow for Premier League trio, Leeds, Manchester United and Newcastle.

It was Romano who reported in October that the West Yorkshire club, the Red Devils and the Magpies all are interested in the teenager and have been scouting him.

And now just two months later, Rangers have agreed a new contract with King.

This means that the Scottish Premiership giants will not sell the teenager in the January transfer window or next summer.

King committing his long-term future to the Gers now suggests that he sees himself playing for the Rangers first team for a while, especially as the Ibrox club have a new manager in Michael Beale now.
