Leeds United continue to be linked with Ola Aina with Torino seemingly risking losing the defender on a free transfer in the summer.

The Whites are likely to be in the market for another left back in 2023.

Junior Firpo just hasn’t done enough to be trusted as Leeds’ first-choice left back moving forward and Pascal Struijk is more of a centre back by trade.

There have been links to players like Kai Wagner and Raphael Guerreiro but Leeds are being linked with a familiar name in Italy.

Leeds United continue to be linked with Ola Aina

It’s that time of year again; time for Leeds to be linked with Ola Aina.

It feels like this rumour comes around just before every transfer window.

This time it’s Tuttosport as they claim that it can’t be ruled out that Leeds make their move for Aina in January.

It’s claimed that number of Premier League clubs are interested in Aina and are now ready to move for him.

Aina’s contract with Torino expires in the summer and it’s currently unclear whether Torino will sort out an extension.

Aina, 26, has played as a left and right wing back throughout his time with Torino.

That versatility could appeal to Leeds, especially with question marks over the futures of Luke Ayling and Cody Drameh on the right side.

Aina came through the Chelsea ranks and also has history in the Premier League having spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Fulham.

The Nigerian international played at right back, left back, even centre back with Fulham as he showed his defensive versatility.

This now feels like the last time this rumour can have some kind of reliability to it.

Leeds are constantly linked with Aina and if they don’t make a firm move for him inside the final six months of his contract, it’s just never going to happen.

Hailed as a ‘great player’ by Torino boss Ivan Juric, Aina is clearly highly rated but the Italian press seem to think a move to Elland Road could be in his future.
