Fabrizio Romano has said Leeds United have no intention of letting Tyler Adams leave in the January transfer window despite recent reports of Inter Milan being interested in the midfielder.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, the transfer guru detailed an encouraging update for Leeds supporters as Romano revealed that the Whites have zero intention of letting their star midfielder leave in the coming weeks, with Inter being linked with a move to Inter over the course of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Adams captained the USA throughout their time in Qatar as America made it out of the group stages but were eventually eliminated by the Netherlands 3-1, with the 24-year-old winning praise from many supporters and pundits for his performances on the pitch and his attitude off it.

Yet for Leeds fans, Adams’ conduct in Qatar has not been a real surprise, with the midfielder becoming one of Jesse Marsch’s most trusted players this season in the White’s starting XI alongside fellow American international Brenden Aaronson, with the duo only arriving in the summer.

Leeds will have to be very persuaded to let Adams leave in January. And now according to Romano, the Yorkshire side have no plans whatsoever to let their new star midfielder leave even amid interest from a UEFA Champions League giant in Inter.

Romano said on Adams’ Leeds future: “Inter Milan are not in talks to sign Tyler Adams as things stand. I’m sure Leeds will try to keep him, they love Tyler as a player but also I’m told they love his attitude in the dressing room. It always depends on the proposals, we will see; too early to say. But I think he’s very good player with a top future.”

Adams has more than proved himself to be quite the player for both club and country this season, and Leeds allowing the midfielder to leave would be a massive mistake on their part. Thankfully, though, it appears that Marsch and the transfer board have no plan to do just this.

Indeed, Adams could well become Leeds captain one day if he continues to develop as well as he has over the past few months. And the midfielder’s performances in Qatar have only solidified these assumptions, with the 24-year-old leading his nation to a strong finish in the competition.
