Everton and Leeds United have reportedly joined the race to sign Atletico Madrid attacker Matheus Cunha, with Wolves currently winning the contest to bring the Brazilian to the Premier League.
According to Relevo, the English duo are interested in signing Cunha, who is expected to leave the UEFA Champions League giants in the January transfer window. However, as per the report, Wolves are currently leading the race for the 23-year-old forward.
With Atletico only signing Cunha for €26m (£22m) as per Relevo, the Spanish side are willing to take a loss on the forward if it means offloading one player off their books for good, with Diego Simeone’s side set for a massive overhaul in January.
And competition in Cunha is exactly what Atletico would have wanted, with Everton and Leeds now joining Wolves in the race to sign the former Hertha Berlin superstar. Jesse Marsch’s interest is of particular note, as the American manager tried to bring the attacker to Elland Road in the summer as reported by TalkSport.

As for Everton, an extra forward in Cunha could be exactly what Frank Lampard needs to turn the Toffees’ season around. However, with Leeds and Wolves all in the same boat, the battle to sign the 23-year-old could be one of the most hectic in the January window in the Premier League.
Indeed, whilst Cunha has hardly featured for Atletico this season, the attacker’s potential and quality is undeniable, and Everton and Leeds rivalling Wolves for the La Liga star’s signature could prove to be one of the most important deals of the winter market.
Wolves can make statement by signing Cunha over Everton and Leeds

Wolves have gone ambitious in the recent appointment of Julen Lopetegui, and the Molineux club can go even one step further in January if they can sign Cunha, who would make most Premier League sides better given his abilities and flair the Brazilian offers.
With Everton and Leeds now back in the mix, Wolves face some strong competition for Cunha despite leading the race for the forward. And if Lopetegui can agree a deal with Atletico, it would be quite a statement for the Spaniard’s new club as well as a huge morale boost for the entire team.
