Tottenham Hotspur want Denzel Dumfries and the Inter Milan star showed exactly why with a superb display for the Netherlands against USA.
Spurs would no doubt love to add another right wing back moving forward.
Emerson Royal just isn’t suited to that role, Matt Doherty isn’t the long-term solution and Djed Spence hasn’t yet become a first-team regular.
Antonio Conte may have some lofty targets in mind and one player is being strongly linked with a move to North London.

Tottenham Hotspur want Denzel Dumfries
90Min claim that Tottenham have made contact to try and sign Inter Milan wing back Denzel Dumfries.
Inter need to sell a key player or two to raise funds and Tottenham are trying their luck with a move for Dumfries.
Inter may only want to sell in January if they can take Dumfries back on loan but Tottenham are seemingly pushing for an immediate arrival.
Chelsea are also keen on Dumfries, so there is a major battle for the Dutch international’s signature.
Dumfries regularly shows his attacking ability and that’s ultimately why Conte wants to bring him to Tottenham.
That quality in the final third was on full display on Saturday afternoon as the Netherlands beat the United States of America 3-1 at the World Cup.
Dumfries set up Memphis Depay’s opening goal, cutting the ball back for the Barcelona forward to finish off a sweeping move.
Dumfries then repeated the trick as he pulled the ball back from the byline for Daley Blind to make it 2-0.
Haji Wright pulled one back for USA in somewhat bizarre fashion before Dumfries again showed his attacking ability.
Blind crossed for a completely unmarked Dumfries to score from six yards out, securing a 3-1 win for the Netherlands and a passage into the last eight.
This is what Dumfries can do – take up great positions to not only set up goals but score them too.
Emerson Royal just doesn’t have the instincts of Dumfries and this display summed up why Tottenham are so keen.
