Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts has finally received its first trailer and fans of the movie franchise are rejoicing and preparing themselves to indulge in what’s sure to be one of the biggest blockbuster spectacles of 2023. Based on Hasbro’s iconic toy line, the first movie in the live-action franchise emerged back in 2007 and was directed by Michael Bay, who was already a household name in the action genre having previously helmed the likes of The Rock and the Bad Boys movies.

The sci-fi epic was a huge commercial success and a sequel – Revenge Of The Fallen – soon followed. As you’ll know, the franchise has prospered since then but more recent efforts like Bumblebee and now Rise Of The Beasts have encouraged some fans to contemplate the chronological order of the series.

With the recent trailer release, there’s perhaps no better time to acknowledge the Transformers movie timeline with Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts slotted in and when it takes place.

Who is the Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts director?

Rise Of The Beasts is directed by Steven Caple Jr, who is perhaps best known for such directorial efforts as Creed II and The Land.

That’s right, Michael is not helming the movie. He directed the first five installments, while Bumblebee was directed by Travis Knight.

Rise Of The Beasts serves as a sequel to Bumblebee and, taking place in 1994, finds a pair of archaeologists discovering conflicts between three factions of Transformers; these are the Terrorcons, the Predacons, and the Maximals.

As we’ve cleared up, Michael’s installments come later in the timeline.
