Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United have been linked with Joao Felix, and, according to The Times, the Gunners or the Red Devils could sign the Portugal international playmaker from Atletico Madrid for €100 million (£86 million) in the January transfer window.
Arsenal and Manchester United need to pay £86m for Joao Felix
The Times have reported that Manchester United want to sign Felix from Atletico in the middle of the season.
Former La Liga champions Atletico are willing to sell the Portugal international, who can operate as a forward, winger or attacking midfielder, for €100 million (£86 million).
So, this means that if Arsenal paid £86 million for Felix – described as “a magnificent footballer” by Atletico president Enrique Cerezo in AS in February 2022 – in the January transfer window, then they would be able to sign him.
The North London club, like United, have been linked with the 23-year-old, who is playing for Portugal at the 2022 Qatar World Cup at the moment.
Journalist Paul Brown told GiveMeSport in October 2022 that Arsenal have admired Felix for a long time and are interested in signing the 23-year-old Portugal international.

Felix is one of the best young attacking players in the world, but the Portugal star is not a regular at Atletico and head coach Diego Simeone does not tend to make full use of his attributes.
The Atletico no. 7 has made five starts and seven substitute appearances in La Liga so far this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists in the process.
