‘Cut from the same cloth’: Jordan Henderson says Liverpool target is just like him

Speaking on a video posted to England’s official Twitter page, Jordan Henderson has been discussing Jude Bellingham and his mentality.

Henderson was discussing his own attitude towards football, saying that he’s dedicated his entire life to the beautiful game and that he’s worked incredibly hard to get where he is today.

The Liverpool captain says that Bellingham shares a lot of the same qualities, describing the 19-year-old Reds target as an ‘incredible’ player.

Henderson discussed Bellingham

“I can see it in Jude and it’s incredible to see from a 19-year-old. We’re cut from the same cloth in the way we love football and how we dedicate our lives to the game, so maybe that makes me warm to him a bit more. I can see the maturity he has beyond his years and the way he plays the game with personality,” Henderson said.

“He has been incredible for a long time now but in this tournament he’s been incredible. If I can help a bit with experience for him and the other lads, I try my best.”

Keep it up

Bellingham has been working incredibly hard and has been dedicated up until this point, and he needs to keep that up.

Yes, he looks like a fantastic player, but he’s only 19, and we’ve seen before how players of this age can fail to reach their potential if they lose focus.

However, with Henderson as a mentor in England camp, Bellingham probably won’t go too far wrong,but it is still very early in his budding career and he can’t afford to lose sight of what has got him this far and what will take him to the next level – hard work.
