CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs has said Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch is a big fan of Brazil international Pedro, with the Whites being linked with signing the 2022 FIFA World Cup star in recent weeks.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, the reporter added fuel to the fire in Leeds’ attempt to sign the Flamengo star with Jacobs revealing that Marsch is a huge fan of Pedro, who is part of Brazil’s squad out in Qatar as the 25-year-old was selected to compete in the World Cup.

One of the best attackers in South America this year, Coluna do Fla recently reported that Leeds could make a move in January to sign Pedro, who in 2022 has bagged an incredible 29 goals and a further ten assists in all competitions for Flamengo.

Whilst Pedro hasn’t featured much for Brazil at the World Cup this year, it’s clear that a move to Europe is on the cards for the 25-year-old in the January window, with Leeds doing their best to get to the front of the queue ahead of 2023.

Indeed, Pedro would add a lot of attacking quality currently missing from Leeds’ squad. And according to Jacobs, the Yorkshire side could make a move for the Brazil international if Marsch manages to get his way and to go after his preferred target.

Jacobs said: “Jesse Marsch is a big fan and we know that Leeds need a few more goals and assists because of their reliance on Patrick Bamford. But, of course, Leeds are in a difficult position because the more he features at the World Cup or the better he does, the more he may potentially put himself in the shop window to other suitors.”

January signings will be the difference between Leeds claiming Premier League survival or dropping out of the top-flight and back down to the Championship. Which is why signing an attacker as prolific as Pedro will be such a big coup for Marsch in the January window.

As we know, Leeds are lacking goals in the attack, and Pedro will be an instant remedy for this problem if the Whites are able to win the race for the Brazilian forward, who could easily be one of the best signings of the window if Marsch can beat rival clubs to the 25-year-old.
