Nigel de Jong has labelled Arsenal transfer target Mohammed Kudus as a ‘lively’ player and the ‘star boy’ for Ghana at the Qatar World Cup.

The 22-year-old is standing tall for his nation on football’s biggest stage, and on Friday, he will be hoping to guide his team to the knockout stages of the World Cup against a familiar rival in Uruguay.

Replays of that infamous Luis Suarez handball in South Africa from 2010 will be replayed again and again in the build-up to this game.

But what a chance this fresh, athletic, fearless and new generation of Ghanaian players have of getting revenge and possibly sending 35-year-old Luis Suarez into retirement.

One player that epitomises Ghana’s energy, flair and all-action style is Ajax star Kudus, who netted a brace against South Korea, he is a player that has been lauded by former Dutch international de Jong, as he told beIN SPORTS (30/11/22 at 9:20 pm).

“This boy right here, Kudus, he is a top talent,” said de Jong. “He plays for Ajax. He’s really lively and energetic for Ghana. He is a star boy.”

ARSENAL INTERESTED IN KUDUS

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are flying high in the Premier League and they will be searching the transfer market to bulk up their squad and provide some much-needed competition to their thriving starting XI.

Could Ajax’s quick-thinking midfielder-turned-forward be one of those players? Well, one thing is for sure, his international teammate, Inaki Williams, is tipping him to make that big move amid the rumours.

Given Kudus’ versatility, energy and outstanding movement, then he is a player that would suit Arteta’s flying and table-topping system.
