Liverpool might regret having missed out on Ousmane Dembele last summer.
During that transfer transfer, the Reds were heavily linked with a move to sign the France international from Barcelona.
According to Sport, Liverpool made contact with the player about coming to Anfield.
However, Dembele wound up snubbing the Premier League outfit and other interested parties in favour of extending his contract at Camp Nou.
The former Borussia Dortmund winger is lighting up the World Cup with France in Qatar right now.

And Ian Wright has admitted that he’s been ‘absolutely amazing’ for Les Bleus in the competition thus far.
He told Wrighty’s House podcast: “Oh God. He’s absolutely amazing. Is that what he said [sow chaos?] He must be reading our chat groups.”
It’s actually quite a shame that Liverpool weren’t able to sign Dembele.
With Sadio Mane having left, what a world-class replacement he could’ve been for Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
Of course, the Reds had Luis Diaz, who has enjoyed an excellent first season in England for the most part, but winning competitions is a squad game.
Klopp lost two wide players last summer – along with Takumi Minamino – and didn’t bring anybody in, meaning that there was certainly room for someone like Dembele who, at the time, was also looking like he was going to be a free agent.
If France go all the way in Qatar and defend their World Cup title, the former Liverpool target will have played a major role.
