Leicester City now believe that Youri Tielemans will not join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal or Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to The Sun.

Leicester’s belief over Arsenal and Manchester United target Youri Tielemans

The Sun have reported that Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in signing Leicester midfielder Tielemans.

The 25-year-old is out of contract at former Premier League champions Leicester at the end of the season.

Tielemans is with the Belgium national football team at the 2022 Qatar World Cup at the moment.

The Sun have reported that the Leicester bosses are confident that they can keep Tielemans.

The Foxes believe that the midfielder could return from Qatar close to extending his contract beyond the the summer of 2023, according to the report.

Uncertain

In our view, nothing can be said for sure about the future of Youri Tielemans at the moment amid interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.

Now, Leicester City may be confident that he will put pen to paper on a new deal, but there are only months left on his current contract.

If the Belgian – described as “fantastic “ by Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers in The Daily Mail – were really keen on staying at the King Power Stadium, then he would have sorted his future by now.

Moreover, Arsenal and Manchester United are much bigger clubs than Leicester.
