Italian outlet CMW claim that Juventus are considering a shock move to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu from Arsenal next summer. The Japan international is currently with his National Team in Qatar, helping them beat Germany 2-1.

Tomiyasu, 24, joined Arsenal from Bologna in the summer of 2021. Since then, he has clocked up 39 appearances for the Londoners. But injury has become a big part of his time at Arsenal. This season, he has lost his starting XI spot.

The form of centre-back Ben White on the right of the defence has seen Tomiyasu start just four Premier League games. Juve are now said to be eyeing at a possible move to rescue Tomiyasu from his lack of game time under Arteta.

Indeed, Juventus are planning a move to sign the Japan star – who came on at half-time against Germany – next summer. It is believed that the versatile defender, who has been used on the left, would cost Juventus a fee of £26m.

Juventus considering shock move to sign Tomiyasu from Arsenal

Tomiyasu was excellent in his first season at The Emirates. The defender, though, suffered an injury and it limited the right-back to just 22 appearances. This season, he has been used more often in Europe, than the Premier League.

It might be then, that Arsenal are open to his sale come the end of the season. Given he is now struggling to start for the Gunners. White is easily first choice and Cedric is some way down the pecking order. Juve would be a good move.

Arsenal may look at it and admit, having bought Tomiyasu for less than £20million, that they are making a profit on a player that is somewhat injury prone. But the ball is in Arsenal’s court, with four years remaining on his current deal.
