Georgie Farmer has made the move from Evermoor to Nevermore, but who is his gorgon character Ajax in the Netflix series Wednesday?
The Addams Family spin-off series, Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán landed on Netflix on Wednesday (of course) November 23 and it’s already a hit.
The show is packed with a wide range of characters and creatures that Wednesday comes across at Nevermore Academy, including Ajax Petropolis, who fans are now conflicted with.

Who is Ajax in Netflix’s Wednesday?
Ajax Petropolis is a student at Nevermore Academy. He’s a gorgon and unlike his namesake, he is shy and awkward.
Ajax will always be seen wearing a hat, and this is to cover his gorgon snakes but they do slip out on occasion.
The youngster struggles to look anyone in the eye without getting anxious but is described as “cute” by Wednesday Addams’ dormmate, Enid Sinclair.
Enid – who is played by Emma Myers – and Ajax have a blossoming romance and when they begin getting close in episode 3, he tells her that Gorgons are told not to get involved with others because they can accidentally turn people to stone.
Unfortunately, Ajax gets a peek at himself in the mirror at one point and ends up turning himself into stone.

What is a gorgon anyway?
You may be wondering what a gorgon is, but if someone said the name “Medusa“, you’d probably know exactly what one was.
A gorgon is a creature from Greek mythology and while their descriptions can vary in Greek literature the term most commonly refers to three sisters who are described as having hair made of living, venomous snakes and horrifying faces that turned those who even glanced at them into stone.
The most famous of gorgons was Medusa – unlike the others, she was the only one that was mortal which is why Perseus, was able to kill her by cutting off her head.

The show’s notable gorgon is played by the young actor, Georgie Farmer, who was originally confirmed for the role in 2021.

Although Farmer is now rocking snakes at Nevermore in his latest role, he’s best know for his role in the Disney show Evermoor.
In Evermore Farmer, who was born in 2002, played the role of Jake Crossley between the years 2014 to 2017. In 2019 the 20-year-old took on the role of Gabe Becker in the TV show Treadstone. The British actor also played “the kid in the Bootsuit Commercial” in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One in 2018.

Wednesday fans are conflicted about Ajax
Just a day after the show dropped on Netflix, Wednesday fans are pretty conflicted over Ajax’s character. Ajax has a burgeoning relationship with Enid but fans are split with many saying they simply don’t “ship” them
Many Wednesday fans took to Twitter to say they thought the pair have “no chemistry” and think the couple would be better as “just friends”. One fan even went so far as to say all the relationships “suck” on the show.
There were some fans who were more into the relationship and happy the two shared a kiss and thought they were “too cute”.
