When you think of the players most likely to produce a moment of brilliance in this England team, Jordan Henderson probably isn’t the first name to spring to mind.

Indeed, the likes of Phil Foden and Jack Grealish may be the ones you’d expect to be scoring worldies and pulling off incredible tricks for the Three Lions, but in the latest training video released on England’s official YouTube channel, Henderson was the one who produced the most jaw-dropping moment.

In a 3v3 attacking drill, Henderson was paired with both Foden and Grealish, and while the two Manchester City men were shining in their own right, Henderson was the player who produced the greatest highlight, netting a perfectly placed curling effort from all of 25 yards.

With Foden and Grealish moving around in the box, many probably expected Henderson to pass here, but you should never underestimate the Liverpool captain’s ability to strike from distance.

We don’t see it all that often, but when Henderson catches one right, it’s one of the greatest sights in football.

This goal was reminiscent of a strike he netted against Chelsea a few years ago, and he showed that while he’s not considered a highlight-reel player he can still shine in what is an incredibly talented group.

Henderson showed here that he still has a big part to play in this England squad, and it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if he worked his way into the starting XI before the tournament is over.
