Liverpool have been left in shock today after Julian Ward and Ian Graham both resigned, with Jamie Carragher now addressing the situation.
What’s the story?
Well, the 44-year-old was speaking to Sky Sports about the sudden departures at Anfield, where he did little to calm fears that something is wrong at Liverpool.
Carragher said: “Yeah, it’s not ideal. It does feel like a little bit of a shock and I think it is a little bit of a worry for Liverpool right now. It’s come as a shock, I’m sure they’re not prepared for something like that (the upheaval) right now.”
With Fenway Sports Group (FSG) putting the Reds up for sale just weeks prior to Ward and Graham’s resignations today, there is certainly plenty to be concerned about for Liverpool fans.
Ward – who will continue working as Director of Football until the end of the season – had only just taken the reins from Michael Edwards in that role, who submitted a resignation notice of his own last term.
In regards to Graham, he will also see out his notice period at Anfield, where he works as Director of Research.

Interestingly, the Guardian believe Liverpool are now thinking about scrapping the Director of Football role entirely after Ward opted to step down.
That, coupled with the fact Graham has also resigned as Director of Research, could suggest Liverpool are now set to move away from their data-driven policy which has served them so well under Jürgen Klopp.
It was an approach which convinced Liverpool to sign the likes of Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, both of whom were far from the world class stars they now are at the time Klopp signed them.
There is plenty of change taking place at Anfield right now, and only time will tell if it leaves Liverpool in better shape than they find themselves in now.
