Charlie Adam has insisted that Rangers can actually catch Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race.
The Ibrox outfit are in dissaray at the moment.
Rangers, who are nine points behind top-of-the-table Celtic, have just parted company with Giovanni van Bronckhorst and there isn’t, as of now, a replacement at the helm.
It’s been a poor season for the Gers, evident by their point deficit to their Old Firm rivals.
Former Celtic midfielder Peter Grant has insisted that the title race is over, claiming there’s ‘no chance’ of Rangers making up the ground.
But Adam isn’t as convinced.
He told PLZ Soccer on YouTube: “You can’t rule it out. No, you cannot rule it out because it’s nine points and there’s plenty of games to go. Whoever has to come in has to have the mindset that they can turn it around.”
Technically, Adam is correct in saying that it isn’t over.
Then again, catching a very strong Celtic outfit is going to be ever so hard.
It’s looking like Michael Beale – once part of Steven Gerrard’s coaching staff – will be returning to Ibrox, this time as manager.
And even though he’ll already know a lot of these light Blues players, there’s still bound to be a period of transition and it’s ever so difficult to see them being consistent enough to catch this Celtic side.
