Walgreens is the perfect spot to grab butter or milk if you are in need of last-minute shopping items on Thanksgiving – but is it open?

Ahead of this year’s festivities, several chains confirmed that they will remain closed to allow time for their employees to spend time with their families.

Is Walgreens open on Thanksgiving?

Yes, Walgreens is open on Thanksgiving with many stores open from 9am to 6pm today.

Most locations are expected to have regular working schedules but do give your local store a call to make sure they haven’t modified their opening or closing hours.

Some of the chain’s pharmacies will be closed today or may have reduced working hours. However, all 24-hour locations should have their pharamacies open.

Which stores are open/closed today?

Chains such as Costco, Sams Club, Walmart, Target, Petsmart, Petco, Lowes, Home Depot and Winn-Dixie will be closed on Thursday, November 25th.

But Acme, Big Lots, Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, Kroger, Meijer, Safeway, Wegmans and Whole Foods are open on Thanksgiving.

Bear in mind that even if some locations are open, they might operate on reduced hours.

Chains such as Starbucks stores will be open, as will Subway, Burger King, Popeyes and Wendy’s.

Dunkin’ stores are also open on Thursday, however, some locations might have different opening hours.

In a Twitter post, Dunkin’ told a customer that holiday hours may differ depending on location since most of their stores across the country are independently owned and operated.

The best thing to do is to reach out to your local store and find out the opening and closing times during the holiday season.
