Rangers have ‘no chance’ of catching Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race this season.
At least, that’s the view of former Hoops midfielder Peter Grant.
Celtic boast a nine-point advantage over Rangers at the summit of Scotland’s top flight.
To make matters worse for the light Blues, Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been sacked this week as the Ibrox outfit suss a replacement.
Ange Postecoglou has re-established the Bhoys as Scotland’s top dogs after Steven Gerrard led the Gers to a title in 2021.

And Grant, who spent 15 years at Parkhead, has insisted that even though Celtic won’t come out and say it, they will definitely defend their Premiership crown this season.
He told the Go Radio Football Show [broadcast November 22], via Spotify: “[The squad are] not [good enough] to come back at Celtic this year, no chance. The league is over. Celtic won’t say it’s over, but I’m telling you [it is] and if I was in the Celtic dressing room I wouldn’t say it either.”
Well, Celtic supporters probably won’t be counting their chickens either, but it does look likely that the title race is finished.
Even if Rangers make an outstanding appointment over the coming days to replace Van Bronckhorst, there will be an adaptation period and you have to believe that the Hoops will only extend their lead.
