Tottenham Hotspur could pair Heung Min-Son with South Korea team-mate Kim Min-Jae at last with Italian outlet Si Gonfia la Rete claiming that the Premier League outfit are willing to trigger the Napoli defender’s release clause.
It is well-documented that Kim Min-Jae has a £45 million release clause in his Napoli contract. One that can only be triggered between the first and the 15th of July next year, and one that only applies to clubs outside of Italy.
You don’t need a PHD in world geography to know that this does not exclude Tottenham Hotspur. The London giants showed an interest in Kim during his time at Fenerbahce, and there is an acceptance now behind the scenes that they made a mistake opting not to pay the £12 million required at the time (90Min).

A mistake that can be rectified in the New Year. Albeit for a hefty price.
Tottenham Hotspur are looking to finally sign Kim Min-Jae from Napoli
“I receive worrying information,” begins reporter Raffaele Auriemma, via Si Gonfia la Rete. “Regarding the possibility that someone could trigger the 50 million euro release clause.
“Diplomacy is underway to try to extend the agreement between Napoli and the player, eliminating the clause. We will see if Napoli will succeed.
“Antonio Conte’s Tottenham have made it known that they are willing to pay that 50 million euro clause. So the two South Koreans can play together: Kim and Son. The Premier League is fertile ground for this type of player.”
Both Kim and Son should start as South Korea begin their Qatar World Cup campaign against Uruguay on Wednesday. Kim, also on Everton’s radar while playing in China, is a major reason why Napoli go into the international break dreaming of a first Scudetto title since Diego Maradona’s heyday.
“Kim has this incredible strength and speed,” coach Luciano Spalletti says of a man stepping effortlessly into Kalidou Koulibaly’s shoes. “As soon as he senses danger, he is off after it at double speed.”
