Konrad Laimer has rejected Chelsea as he wants to join Bayern Munich – but Liverpool are still trying to sign the RB Leipzig ace.
Leipzig have made great progress over the years but are now growing very used to losing their key players.
The likes of Ibrahima Konate, Dayor Upamecano, Marcel Sabitzer, Naby Keita and Timo Werner have all moved on in recent years.
Christopher Nkunku looks set to be the next departure as a move to Chelsea draws closer – but midfielder Laimer won’t be following him.

Bild report that Chelsea made contact to try and sign Laimer but it went no further because he wants to join Bayern Munich.
Laimer’s Leipzig contract expires at the end of the season and he is refusing to sign a new deal with the German side.
Chelsea tried to sign Laimer but the Austrian ace isn’t interested.
Laimer wants to join Bayern in order to work with his former Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann again.
Laimer was a key part of Nagelsmann’s Leipzig side with his pressing ability proven vital to the tactical approach there.
Bayern love to raid their Bundesliga rivals for free transfers and it looks like they will do the same again with Laimer.
Bild’s report does note one problem for Bayern though; that Liverpool are still digging for Laimer’s signature.
Whilst Chelsea were given a snub, it seems that Liverpool haven’t really been sent the same message.
Jurgen Klopp’s side really need a couple of midfielders in 2023 and moving for a bargain like Laimer alongside a big addition – such as Jude Bellingham – would be ideal.
Liverpool aren’t backing away from the Laimer race and are still seemingly hopeful of changing the 25-year-old’s mind.
That seems unlikely given how set Laimer is on joining Bayern but the Reds are posing a problem for Nagelsmann’s side.
