In an interview with Colombian magazine SoHo, Luis Diaz has admitted that he wishes to play for a Spanish club someday in the future.

Since joining Liverpool in the summer for £37 million (Sky Sports), the former Porto winger has been an absolute revelation.

Taking on the near-impossible task of replacing Sadio Mane, the 25-year-old has done a commendable job so far.

Diaz’s devastating 1v1 ability coupled with his searing pace and eye for goal makes him one of the most complete wide forwards in the Premier league.

And once again, it seems as if the Reds’ recruitment team have struck gold with the frightening wideman.

However, he seems to have hinted at a move away from Anfield one day.

Diaz opens up about desire to play in Spain

Speaking to Colombian magazine SoHo, Luis Diaz expressed his desire about playing for a Spanish side one day.

“I would like to play for a Spanish club that has always attracted my family’s attention, but it is more of a childish dream.”

However, Diaz poured water over any potential speculation that he fancies a move to Spain currently.

“Now, I only think about lifting trophies and making history with Liverpool, which is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I am very grateful for the opportunity they have given me.”

Liverpool have no causes for concern about Diaz’s future

Interestingly, the highly-rated winger nearly joined Barcelona before signing for Jurgen Klopp’s side, as mentioned by club president Joan Laporta, in an interview with AS.

As is custom with South American players, they tend to always be enticed by a transfer to one of Barcelona or Real Madrid.

However, a wish does not particularly imply that Diaz is hell-bent on departing Liverpool to join one of those sides.

As confirmed by the player himself, his goal remains to win silverware in Merseyside.

If Liverpool continue to challenge for major honours, Luis Diaz is likely not to be even consider a move elsewhere.
