According to Sport, Arsenal are interested in a move for Barcelona and Netherlands attacker Memphis Depay.
The Dutchman isn’t getting much of a game over in Catalonia, and it seems as though he may well be on the move in the January transfer window.
The Gunners are in the market for a new attacker to add depth to their frontline, and Depay would certainly fit that bill.
Interestingly, one Arsenal legend is a big fan of Depay – Cesc Fabregas.
Indeed, the Spaniard hailed Depay last summer when he signed for Barcelona.

Fabregas loves Depay
The midfielder spoke highly of Depay to Sport when he signed for Barcelona.
“We played several times against each other and I spoke to him after the last game. When we played against him, whether he was in the squad or not, we had a different approach,” Fabregas said.
“He made the difference, when everyone defended, he ran with the ball and that’s what makes him more dangerous . He’s very fast and has very good leadership skills. He has good passes, he’s creative and that’s good, because football today is very organized Memphis has that magic to create different things.”
Would suit Arsenal
It’s up for debate whether or not Depay is as talented as Fabregas thinks – after all, he made barely any impact during his time at Manchester United.
However, the player that Fabregas describes would really suit Arsenal.
The Gunners are at their best in the final third when their players are using their creativity and flair to make things happen, and as Fabregas says, Depay has that sort of ‘magic’.
Factor in that he can play through the middle or on either flank and you have a signing that could kill two or even three birds with one stone at the Emirates.
