Raheem Sterling has claimed that Liverpool transfer target Mason Mount produced ‘the best training performance I have seen’ with England.
The duo are at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and Sterling added that what his Chelsea teammate did at St Georges Park, no-one has been able to top since.
This isn’t a recent training performance Sterling is talking about, but one that took place before Mount could break into the Chelsea set-up and he was on-loan at then-Championship side, Derby County.

It must have been seriously impressive given how long Sterling has been in England colours and the players he has played alongside.
But Mount, when it comes to the training pitch at least, can put himself above the likes of Harry Kane, Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham, well in Sterling’s eyes at least, as he told England’ Diary Room.
“The best training performance I have seen to this day,” said Sterling. “Every time I speak or we are talking after the game or something.
“I always say to him ‘the best training performance I have seen to this day’. I think he joined up with the seniors. He got brought in. I think he was with the U21s or something. He just came, I think he was at Derby at the time, and I am not even exaggerating.
“Left foot, right foot, dribbling, chopping. It was the best training of all. I haven’t seen anything that topped that. Incredible. It was top, top.”

LIVERPOOL’S INTEREST IN MOUNT
Jurgen Klopp’s side haven’t started the Premier League season like they would have liked and there has been talk of the midfield getting refreshed.
Not many would have probably tipped Mount to swap Chelsea colours for Liverpool, but it’s his name that is being talked about.
Mount has less than two years left to run on his contract at Stamford Bridge and those on Merseyside are keen on a possible shock transfer which wouldn’t sit well with those at Chelsea, that’s for sure.
