Alan Shearer has raved about reported Liverpool and Newcastle United target Moises Caicedo on BBC One (3:51pm, November 20, 2022).

The Newcastle legend believes that Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Caicedo is going to be a top player.

Shearer made the comments about the 21-year-old midfielder ahead of the 2022 World Cup game between Qatar and Ecuador.

The Mirror reported in October that Newcastle are among the clubs interested in signing Caicedo from Premier League rivals Brighton.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are also reportedly keen on the youngster.

The Seagulls are ready to sell the Ecuador international, but they want £85 million in transfer fees for him, according the report.

Interestingly, it was Newcastle’s sporting director Dan Ashworth who brought Caicedo to Brighton.

Ashworth is Brighton’s former technical director.

The 21-year-old has scored one goal in 14 Premier League appearance for Brighton so far this season.

The Seagulls are doing extremely well in the Premier League at the moment and could end up in the top half of the table at the end of the season.
