Frank Lampard’s Everton want to sell defender Michael Keane to Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window, according to The Sun.

Everton want Nottingham Forest to sign Michael Keane

The report in the British tabloid has claimed that Everton want to offload Keane and are hoping that Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest take him.

Forest want to sign a centre-back, but manager Steve Cooper will explore other options first.

The Toffees may have to settle for a £15 million transfer fee for the 29-year-old central defender, who has played 12 times for England.

The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that Keane was set to leave Everton on loan in the January transfer window.

The report claimed that West Ham United and Forest wanted to sign the defender in the summer of 2022, but Everton turned down their offers.

No future at Goodison Park

In our view, there is no future for Michael Keane at Everton under manager Frank Lampard.

The £69,000-a-week (SalarySport) has made only one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Toffees so far this season.

We do not see Keane playing much for the Toffees if he stays at Goodison Park beyond the January transfer window.
