The England squad have gone from temperatures of roughly ten degrees on these shores, to intense 33 degree heat in Qatar as the World Cup gets set to begin.
Ben White of Arsenal and Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool could be seen in footage from Sky Sports looking fairly exhausted after one session under Gareth Southgate, although the Three Lions have introduced a unique way to keep their players cool.
Arsenal & Liverpool stars seen keeping cool for England
Well, England have arranged for huge water spraying machines to be implemented by the side of the training pitches, to give the players a simple way to quickly cool down.
As you can see below, White and Alexander-Arnold were joined by Jude Bellingham, Conor Coady and Callum Wilson among those who stuck their face right in front of the water sprayer, puffing their cheeks out as the sun takes its toll.
We have never seen a machine like this used in the Premier League, so the Football Association (FA) clearly felt that unique measures were needed to deal with the heat in Qatar.
Nevertheless – as Sky Sports state in the video – things should be a bit easier for the Three Lions in their World Cup opener against Iran on Monday, as the sun will be setting.
That match kicks off at 1pm in England, with Qatar three hours ahead of the United Kingdom.
Ben White must start for England
As aforesaid, White could be seen in the footage, and he should feel very hard done by if he doesn’t start against Iran.
The 25-year-old has been near faultless for Arsenal this season as the Gunners sit top of the Premier League, starting all 14 league games for the north Londoners.

Southgate has only ever handed White four caps for England, but if he decides to start the likes of Harry Maguire or Coady ahead of the Arsenal defender, it would be very harsh.
Maguire has barely played for Manchester United this season, whereas Coady has been a regular in one of the division’s worst teams this season, as Everton sit 17th in the table.
Hopefully, White is rewarded for his excellent Arsenal form with a World Cup starting role at centre-back, ideally alongside John Stones.
