Ardon Jashari wants to leave FC Luzern in January amid interest from Premier League leaders Arsenal, with Sky Germany saying that the Switzerland international could cost as little as £4 million.
Jashari, a few weeks ago, admitted that he dreams of following in Granit Xhaka’s footsteps. Not necessarily at the Emirates Stadium, but by establishing himself at the very top of the European game, not to mention on the international stage.
Jashari currently has just one cap for his country. That did not stop the 20-year-old from securing a place alongside Xhaka in Switzerland’s World Cup squad, however.

And, according to reporter Matteo Moretto, there is a chance that Jashari will be sharing a dressing room with Xhaka on a weekly basis in the near future too; Arsenal allegedly identifying the hard-running 20-year-old as a player capable of adding some depth to a paper-thin Arsenal midfield.
Will Switzerland international Ardon Jashari join Granit Xhaka at Arsenal?
Jashari, Sky say, wants to leave Swiss Super League outfit FC Luzern in the New Year. An offer of around £4 – £6 million may be enough. Though one suspects Luzern’s asking price could rise once a club of Arsenal’s wealth and pulling power enters the discussions.
An ‘exceptionally gifted’ footballer boasting ‘remarkable consistency’ despite his young age; some in Switzerland reportedly believe Jashari has the talent and the mindset to follow in the footsteps of Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jude Bellingham, even if he is likely to cost his next club a lot less than the sort of fee BVB are demanding for their much-coveted England international.
“For me, Jashari is the greatest talent in Switzerland,” Luzern coach Mario Frick says of the tireless midfielder, who has captained his side in 12 league games so far in 2022/23 despite only turning 20 in July.
“He’s really good! I think this role (as one of the club’s captains) will give him an extra push.”
Jashari would likely provide support for Thomas Partey and compatriot Xhaka for the time being at Arsenal. Albert Sambi Lokonga, meanwhile, has struggled to impress when given a chance by Mikel Arteta of late.
