Inter Milan and Juventus are now reportedly interested in signing Chelsea superstar N’Golo Kante, with the France international also believed to be wanted by Arsenal.

According to La Repubblica, the two-time Premier League winner is now in the radars for both Inter and Juventus, with Chelsea believed to be open on selling the midfielder for around £18m in the January transfer window, with Kante’s contract set to expire in the summer.

A hamstring injury has limited Kante to just two appearances all season as the midfielder missed out on selection for France’s 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. And now, the 31-year-old could be set to leave west London in 2023 as transfer interest continues to mount for the former Leicester City dynamo.

90min have previously claimed that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are also in the race for Kante, and given the Gunners’ record of signing players from Chelsea, a move isn’t exactly out of the question, with the north London side bringing the likes of Petr Cech, David Luiz and Willian to the Emirates Stadium in recent years.

Indeed, central midfield is a position Arsenal are looking to strengthen in the January window. However, given Kante’s age and wage, a move seems unlikely for the Premier League leaders, especially when Inter and Juventus feel like more natural options for the Chelsea superstar if he was to leave the English capital.

Moreover, both Inter and Juventus have the financial capabilities and the allure to sign Kante, whilst Arsenal will likely take a different approach in January over their transfers, with a younger name likely to be on Arteta’s wish list for the winter market.

Arsenal’s transfer policy in the past 12 months has been nothing short of revolutionary, with the Gunners shifting their focus from experienced and over-paid players to talents who have the potential to learn Arteta’s system and to learn alongside the development of the club. And for this, the north London side must drop their interest in Kante.

After all, whilst the midfielder is exceptional, Kante’s age, wages and now injury record is the last thing Arsenal would want based on the work Arteta has done over the last year. And for Inter and Juventus, the Gunners dropping out will help their cause to sign the France star.
