A talent as good as Bellingham only comes around one every few years, much less from England of all places. Yet so good is the midfielder that City signing the teenager could well confirm the Manchester giants’ dominance in both England and Europe for many years to come.

After all, City already have the best young striker in the world in Haaland on their books, and adding the best young midfielder on the planet in Bellingham would be another nail in the coffin for competitive balance in the Premier League and potentially Europe.
