Ahead of Scotland’s upcoming friendly against Turkey, Andy Robertson was extremely complimentary about Liverpool and Scotland teammate, Calvin Ramsay.

Ramsay is one for the future

Unsurprisingly so, considering Jurgen Klopp’s side deemed the 19-year -old worthy of playing in the absence of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is heralded as one of the best right-backs in the world.

Even Jurgen Klopp recently dubbed the wonderkid as an “outstanding talent”, as quoted by BBC Sport.

Unfortunately for the Scotsman, his arrival at Anfield has been marred by injuries, which is why he has made only a single start in Liverpool’s recent win against Derby County in the Carabao Cup so far.

However, the former Aberdeen defender is renowned for his silky dribbling, ability to wriggle out of tight spaces and carry the ball effortlessly from both wide and central areas.

Despite the teenager’s arrival becoming somewhat of a forgotten story due to his struggles with injury, Andy Robertson has assured that the Reds have a hell of a player on their hands.

Robertson waxes lyrical about Ramsay

Andy Robertson has shined a light on the fact that Calvin Ramsay is one to keep an eye out for, as quoted by BBC Sport.

“Obviously, Liverpool spotted that and that’s why they bought him [Ramsay]”, he said, discussing his teammate’s “huge potential”.

The Scotland skipper continued, “He doesn’t seem fazed by a lot of things and takes everything in his stride; that’s credit to him. Everyone at Liverpool is excited to see how far he can go and I’m sure everyone in Scotland is the same.”

“He’s coming up against the world’s best right-back in Trent [Alexander-Arnold], but since he’s been back in training, he’s been training really well and obviously got his reward with his debut.”

“He’ll be looking for more game time, that’s how you learn and develop. I know he’s excited about being involved in the Scotland camp and I’m sure he’ll be involved in a lot more for many years to come.”

Considering Andy Robertson is regarded as one of the most complete full-backs in the game, his positive seal of approval about Calvin Ramsay is smashing news for Liverpool fans.
