Kieran Trippier says England World Cup teammate Jude Bellingham is “unbelievable” and should already be considered in the “world-class” bracket – amid reports that Liverpool and Manchester United scouted the Dortmund star last week.
Bellingham, 19, is considered one of the best teenage talents on the European stage at the moment. Since his move to Germany from Bayern Munich, he has already played 112 times for Dortmund – even captaining them twice this term.
90Min reported this month that Liverpool and Manchester United scouts were in attendance to watch the 17-time England star during a 4-2 defeat to Gladbach on Saturday. While his side lost, Bellingham did lay on an assist.
Speaking to Under the Cosh, Newcastle right-back Trippier – who is also in excellent form, branded the best right-back in the Premier League at the moment by Alan Shearer – was full of praise for Bellingham. He thinks he is world class.

“For such a young guy, he’s what, 18? Him and Phil [Foden] are unbelievable,” Trippier told UTC’s podcast. “He’s just so mature for his age, the way he plays, the way he manages his game, he’s world class now. He’s unbelievable.”
Trippier: Bellingham already world class amid Liverpool reports
Next summer, there is going to be an almighty tussle for Bellingham’s signature. As things stand, he is likely to cost the best part of £100million – if not that exact figure. A solid World Cup with England and that figure will only grow north.
Who can genuinely sign him? It has to be a club in the Champions League, without a doubt. Liverpool and Manchester United are certainly not nailed on to finish in those positions – but they have a chance. He is said to be a Liverpool fan.
But while those two sides remain in transition, the chances are that he could join Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti’s side need a replacement for Toni Kroos and more-importantly, Luka Modric. Bellingham would be the ideal signing.
