Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has emphasised on his YouTube channel that Liverpool’s summer window will mainly be focused towards trying to sign Jude Bellingham.
The Reds’ failure to sign the “next Steven Gerrard” last summer
It was reported by the Daily Express that Liverpool were keen on completing a deal worth £85.5 million to sign Jude Bellingham.
However, Borussia Dortmund refused to sell the England international, considering they had already lost one big-name in Erling Haaland last summer.
As is custom with the German giants’ transfer policy, they have a strict rule that prohibits two of their biggest superstars to depart the club in the same transfer window.

However, it was claimed that the Bundesliga side were more open to the idea of the ex-Birmingham City midfielder bidding farewell to the club in 2023.
But the club would only let Jurgen Klopp’s men, or any side in Europe prise the 19-year old away if they forked out a fee in excess of £100 million.
Liverpool will go all in to land Bellingham in 2023
Speaking on his official YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano made it clear that the Merseyside-based club’s primary target in the summer transfer window remains the Englishman, despite their inability to bring him in at the start of this season.
“Liverpool will be there [in the race to sign Bellingham].”
“Jude Bellingham is the main target [in the summer] for Liverpool. He’s [Bellingham] the obsession of Liverpool. For next summer, let’s see if they [Liverpool] will be able to reach an agreement with the player and with Borussia Dortmund.”
“But Liverpool are 100% in the race.”
With a long list that includes some of Europe’s most elite clubs, Liverpool will have to compete with some of the best of the best to land the teenage sensation in the summer.
One will have to wait and see whether the Reds’ approach of considering Jude Bellingham as their main midfield target is a risky one, as the wonderkid will have his pick of top sides to sign for.
