Newcastle United co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has praised Sven Botman on Instagram for his performance against Graham Potter’s Chelsea at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle got the better of Graham Potter’s Chelsea 1-0 at home.

Former Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock scored the only goal of the match.

It came midway through the second half.

Botman started the match for Newcastle, and the Dutch defender played well.

And Newcastle co-owner Ghodoussi was impressed, telling the 22-year-old £35 million (Sky Sports) star that he was superb.

Impressive

In our view, Sven Botman is one of the best players for Newcastle United and the young defender did well against Chelsea.

The Blues looked really blunt in attack, and one of the big reasons for that was the calm and assured performance of Botman at the back.

The 22-year-old did not do anything wrong defensively and was a rock at the back for Eddie Howe’s side.

Newcastle deservedly picked up all three points against Chelsea at home on Saturday.

The win has enhanced the Magpies’ chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
