Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised Harvey Elliott on the club’s official website for his contribution to the Reds’ win against Southampton at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool got the better of Southampton 3-1 at Anfield.
Elliott started the match for the former Premier League champions.
The 19-year-old started on the right of a midfield-three.
The former Fulham youngster provided the assist for Darwin Nunez’s goal in the 21st minute.
It was a brilliant assist from Elliott that showed his vision and passing range.
One BBC Sport pundit has even compared it to the kind of passes that Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne plays.
Liverpool boss Klopp was impressed by the pass and has described it as “sensational”.

Jurgen Klopp on Harvey Elliott for Liverpool v Southampton
Klopp said: “First half was really good. So, we did everything what Southampton didn’t want us to do, let me say it like this.
“So, used the speed of Mo and Darwin, we used the spaces we create with the speed in between the lines, we used our football skills; the goals how we set it up.
“So, the first was a set-piece – but then [a] sensational pass from Harvey but the movement from Darwin [was] really important.”
Impressive
In our view, Harvey Elliott played well for Liverpool against Southampton and is one of the best young players in the Premier League at the moment.
The 19-year-old is doing well for the Reds in midfield despite being a winger by trade and has learned the way Klopp plays very quickly.
That Elliott is starting games quite regularly for Liverpool shows how much Klopp likes him and trusts him.
