Liverpool want Jamal Musiala but Lothar Matthaus has suggested that Bayern Munich must keep him forever – or demand over £200million.

Bayern were in action against Schalke on Saturday and it was a fairly comfortable win – as you would expect from Bayern.

Jamal Musiala’s back heel set up Serge Gnabry’s opener before the playmaker found Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting for number two.

Musiala may not have scored but he stole the show with his creative performance that resulted in two assists.

Lothar Matthaus praises Liverpool target Jamal Musiala

Musiala did have the ball in the net as his beautiful technical ability allowed him to shift the ball away form the goalkeeper at close close whilst flicking the ball into the almost in one motion.

Sadly, Muisala’s strike was ruled out for offside and we were robbed of a truly fantastic goal.

That didn’t stop Lothar Matthaus from raving about Musiala though.

As quoted by Football Transfers, Matthaus suggested that Musiala’s skill shows that he ‘plays like Messi’, branding his ability ‘Hollywood’.

Matthaus added that Musiala must always play for Bayern and never leave, believing this value is now €250million (£219million).

“Did you see what Musiala did? It’s just magic, Musiala plays like [Lionel] Messi,” said Matthaus. “It’s Hollywood. He must never leave Bayern. He always has to play.”

“How much does it take to buy him? An immoral offer. I think his value is €250m, but in any case this player is not for sale,” he added.

The German legend clearly thinks highly of Musiala and it looks like Liverpool do too.

The Mirror noted in October that Liverpool were considering Musiala as an alternative target to Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.

Liverpool are looking to freshen up their midfield and Bellingham is their top target but he will be very expensive.

The Reds may fancy Musiala as an alternative but if Bayern listen to Matthaus, he will be worth even more than Bellingham.

It’s very unlikely that Liverpool will be able to convince Bayern to sell, with the 19-year-old now racking up a ridiculous nine goals and six assists in 14 league games this season.
