On Wednesday night, Tottenham Hotspur suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the Third Round of the Carabao Cup.

After a spirited second half display in their latest 2-1 loss to Liverpool, Spurs were expected to come out flying against Forest.

However, the North Londoners put in yet another insipid display, as they tasted their third defeat in the last six games in all competitions.

Upon Antonio Conte’s arrival last season, the decorated manager was expected to end the club’s 14-year running trophy-drought.

However, the Italian boss has failed in his first test to do so far thus far this season, as his side have been knocked out in their inaugural game in the competition.

Former Lilywhites midfielder and active pundit, Jamie O’Hara criticised the former Inter Milan manager after his side’s latest setback, touching on the mixed bag of results and uninspiring brand of football.

“Tottenham for me, what’s going on? This can’t continue”, he told talkSPORT.

O’Hara elaborated, “I’ve been a massive fan of Conte. I’m still a big fan of him. But the way that we’re [Tottenham] playing Dean [Saunders] and the way we’re going about games and the constant going 1-0 down, 2-0 down, first-half performances, absolutely miles off it…”

“I don’t kind of know how I can keep saying, ‘back him! Back him!’ because eventually, I’m going to look like the idiot because right now, I keep saying, ‘we’ve got to back him, we’ve got to do this, he’ll win us a competition, he’ll win us a trophy.’ We’re out!”

Jamie O’Hara went on to question why Antonio Conte persists with a three-man defence, saying, ““Change the formation! Why have we got to play 3 at the back?”

“But surely as a manager when you can see it’s not working and you’ve got so many injuries, and thing are just not working out, change the formation!”

It seems as if the number of Spurs fans are echoing O’Hara’s views, as Conte has been the subject of incessant criticism since the start of the season.
