Former Burnley manager Sean Dyche insists he is on the lookout for a Premier League job while playing down the prospect of replacing Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Rangers, speaking to talkSPORT (10 November, 12.30pm).
It was hardly a vintage Gers display, but the under-fire Dutchman will care little about how the three points were secured during Wednesday’s hard-fought 1-0 win over Hearts.
Following a demoralising loss at St Johnstone, a defeat which, threatened to turn the air as blue as Rangers’ home shirt, Van Bronckhorst needed a response and he got one too; Malik Tillman’s winner and much-improved performances from the likes of Ryan Kent keeping the proverbial wolf from the door for the time being.

According to The Athletic, Van Bronckhorst’s job is safe ‘for now’. Not next week. Not next month. ‘For now’.
If reports are to be believed, however, the 2022 Europa League finalists are sounding out potential replacements; Maccabi Haifa coach Barak Bakhar one name on their radar. The out-of-work Dyche, however, has no immediate plans to move north of the border, waiting instead for a chance to kick-start his Premier League career following that surprise exit from Burnley seven months ago.

“Like I say, there is a window of opportunity and I think I’m still in it. I’ve got a window of possible opportunity in the Premier League. (If I don’t get a top-flight offer), then maybe I broaden my horizons,” explains Dyche.
The gravel-voiced gaffer, who famously led an unfancied Burnley side into Europa on a shoestring budget in 2018, admits that he does have a relationship with Rangers’ director of football Ross Wilson, and would love to sample an Old Firm game at Ibrox, albeit from the terraces rather than the dugout.
“I do know Ross Wilson,” Dyche quips. “He still hasn’t invited me to an Old Firm game! I’d love to go.”
According to The Mirror, West Brom considered Dyche after sacking Steve Bruce a couple of weeks ago. The Baggies turned to Carlos Corberan, however, with the 51-year-old holding out for a top-flight role.
