If Arsenal are still interested in Noa Lang, they might face competition from Aston Villa during the January transfer window.

Toward the end of the summer window, journalist Rudy Galetti tweeted – as covered by HITC Sport – that the Gunners were keen on signing the Club Brugge attacker.

Lang wound up staying in Belgium despite a lot of speculation about his future and now, Aston Villa could be joining the race.

At least, that’s what Voetbal Belgie have intimated.

According to the Belgian outlet, Villa – and Everton – are joining Leeds in wanting the 23-year-old winger.

Now at Aston Villa, Unai Emery obviously has links to Arsenal, having been fired by the North Londoners three years ago.

And it would frustrate the Emirates Stadium outfit if their former boss wound up nicking Lang from them this winter.

The Belgian attacker has been labelled ‘better than Nicolas Pepe’ [Football London] in the past and it isn’t impossible that Arsenal would want Lang again when the transfer window opens once more.

That’s because Mikel Arteta and Edu didn’t wind up signing a wide player and they’re one injury to Gabriel Martinelli or Bukayo Saka away from being in major trouble.

January will be Emery’s first opportunity to put his stamp on this Aston Villa outfit and it’ll be interesting to see if Lang is a genuine option.
