After its sensational cancellation by NBC in 2021, Manifest has returned to our screens courtesy of Netflix but the revival has also come with the arrival of some new faces.
Chief among them is Ty Doran who takes on the role of Cal Stone following the twists and turns of season 3’s dramatic finale and cliffhanger ending.

Cal recast in Manifest season 4
From Manifest’s opening season, the role of Cal Stone had been played exclusively by Jack Messina.
However, fans tuning in to watch season 4 on Netflix are being greeted with a new and older version of Cal, now played by Ty Doran, after the character was aged up.
While some fans may believe this recast is new for season 4, the actors actually changed in the final episode of season 3.
In the episodes Mayday Part 1 and 2, young Cal touched the tailfin of Flight 828 which caused him to disappear, only to return as an adult version of himself now played by Doran to be with his mother Grace as she died.
As the story continues in season 4, it becomes clear through flashbacks that Cal had aged five and a half years by touching the tailfin, although he has no memory of his disappearance.
Meet actor Ty Doran
Taking on the role of Cal in season 4 of Manifest is Ty Doran.
Born on October 29, 1997, Ty Doran is 25 years of age as of the release of Manifest season 4.
The American actor studied at Kinkaid School in Houston where he starred as Edna Turnblad in a production of the musical Hairspray.
Like many actors in the modern industry, Ty is highly active on social media, notably Instagram, where he has a following of just over 26,000 as of November 2022.
Many of Ty’s post share behind-the-scenes images from his acting work as well as promotional material from his upcoming projects.
Previous roles explored
Ty Doran has been acting since 2011 when he made his professional debut by lending his voice to the character of Yuma in the English version of the anime series Eternal Quon.
Since then, he has appeared in a smattering of tv roles, notably appearing in season 2 of American Crime, All Night, Queen Sugar, Bull, Chicago Fire and The Blacklist.
