The Sun claim that West Ham want to sign on-loan Lyon winger Tete ahead of the January transfer window, with parent club Shakhtar Donetsk willing to sell for a fee of £25million. Leicester, Southampton and Brentford are keen.
Tete, 22, joined Lyon in March with players from the Ukraine Premier League allowed to leave the country – given the situation of the Russian war. It comes after 46 goal involvements in 108 Shakhtar outings, winning two Ukraine titles.
He has impressed in France, too. Playing 22 games, he has scored seven times and laid on eight assists. He played alongside Lucas Paqueta and Emerson Palmieri for a couple of months, towards the end of the 21-22 term at Lyon.
The report from The Sun claim West Ham are one of four Premier League clubs pursuing a move for Tete. Shakhtar were willing to do business for £25m in the summer. Leicester, Brentford and Southampton are also looking at him.

West Ham want on-loan Lyon winger Tete, Paqueta knows him well
Tete is a player with enormous potential. A player that has quickly adapted to life in France, scoring five goals and laying on three assists in 11 games this season. He would be a bargain at just £25million, hence the interest in him.
Do West Ham need him? Well, David Moyes will still feel the left flank is an area he can improve. Said Benrahma has hardly been convincing on a regular basis. Pablo Fornals is more of a midfielder. But Tete is best from the right wing.
All wingers can switch sides, but they have their preferred flank and at Lyon, he has starred on the right. But having played with Paqueta and Emerson, and given his bargain fee, it might be a great deal for Moyes and West Ham.
