Owen Hargreaves has told BT Sport that Konstantinos Tsimikas is capable of producing the “perfect” delivery after the Liverpool left-back sent the two corners into the box that resulted in his side’s two goals against Napoli.
Liverpool got back to winning ways at Anfield on Tuesday night with a 2-0 win over Napoli. Mo Salah opened the scoring after Darwin Nunez’s header was parried by Alex Meret, before Nunez prodded Virgil van Dijk’s header in.
Both goals came from Tsimikas’ corners on the left flank, inside the final moments of the match. It sees Liverpool go through as second in Group A, despite dropping just three points. Napoli went through as winners of the Group.
Ajax finish third, and Rangers in fourth – the worst-ever record in Champions League group stages. Hargreaves was full of praise for £65k-a-week Liverpool ace Tsimikas as his delivery saw Liverpool end the night as 2-0 winners.
“Again, it’s Tsimikas. Whipping in the perfect ball, he did it for the first goal – and then the second. Maybe this is a little recipe for Liverpool. Set-pieces, keep clean sheets. They have big presences, they are a huge threat.”

Hargreaves: Liverpool left-back Tsimikas capable of perfect delivery
The pundit makes a good point. Liverpool are struggling at the moment and it took them until 84 minutes to break the deadlock against Napoli. They have lost back-to-back Premier League games to Nottingham Forest and Leeds.
But if they are to get through the patch of form, they may have to revert to basics. Keeping it solid, clean sheets and then utilising set-pieces to get them through matches. They have the players to deliver, and the threat in the box.
Liverpool go to North London on Sunday to take on Tottenham and it will be an interesting encounter. Spurs beat Marseille and will have their tails up. But they are poor against the top four – but the Reds are not playing well.
