Inter Milan are reportedly keen to sell Germany international Robin Gosens just one year after the Nerazzurri beat the likes of Newcastle United to the fullback’s signature.
According to CalcioMercato, the Serie A side have placed the 28-year-old wingback on the transfer list having failed to settle at the club, with Gosens making just one appearance in nine months for Inter as injuries and a lack of promising performances have seemingly doomed the defender at succeeding at the club.
With Inter demanding €25m (£21m) for the fullback, Gosens could finally get his career back on track with a move in January, with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Leicester City all linked to the Dutch-born star in recent weeks as per FC Inter News. However, Newcastle could also join the race.
Eddie Howe’s side were eager to sign Gosens last January to add to their roster of winter signings. However, the defender wasn’t sold on the project, with Inter instead winning the race. Yet that transfer has gone as poorly as one could imagine.

And now, with another January window on the horizon, Newcastle could look to sign Gosens with Inter keen to sell, with left-back a position the Magpies could seemingly do with a quality addition in, with Matt Targett’s form yet to hit the heights of what the defender managed last season.
Indeed, Howe’s flexible tactical system means that Gosens could be a great addition to the side and have an impact in numerous positions, and with £21m now the asking price for Inter, Newcastle could hedge their bets and try to bring the 28-year-old to the Premier League a second try.
Inter selling Gosens must push Newcastle to make move in January

Gosens’ time in Inter has been nothing short of disastrous, with the German going from one of the best wingbacks in Europe to almost a forgotten name entirely. And for Newcastle, they’ve got to take full advantage of this unique opportunity to bring the fullback to Tyneside.
After all, a quality left-back could spur Newcastle in the European race like nothing else, and with the Howe project clearly on the right path, Gosens himself might be open to a move in January with Inter desperate to sell the defender in January.
