Jamie Carragher has claimed that Leeds United transfer target Mykhaylo Mudryk has been a ‘standout’ performer in the Champions League this season, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (25/10/22 at 10:20 pm).
The 21-year-old scored a wondergoal during Shakhtar Donetsk’s 1-1 draw against Celtic in Glasgow on Tuesday night and there were suggestions that Leeds were scouting the highly-rated winger.
But could Leeds be in for a tough battle to secure Mudryk’s signature? Carragher thinks, given his performances, then ‘a lot of clubs in Europe’ will be looking at him.

Mudryk has an impressive three goals and two assists in the Champions League this season, including a standout display in Germany when Shakhtar beat RB Leipzig 4-1 in September.
Shakhtar won’t qualify for the knockout stages, but that point against Celtic was enough for them to book their place in the Europa League.
That will be an ample chance for Mudryk to shine on a big stage once more, as Carragher is seriously impressed by what he is seeing.
“He has been one of the standouts in the Champions League, hasn’t he?!” said Carragher. “I think, in the group stages, he has been absolutely fantastic.
“I think a lot of clubs in Europe have got to be looking at this young lad. They really have to.”

MUDRYK FLYING
Leeds might find that the performances Mudryk is putting up will now grab the attention of those higher up than they are.
The Ukraine international is powering forward with the ball at ease on the biggest domestic stage of them all and, come next season, if he leaves Shakthar, then it has to be for another team in Europe.
That rules out the Whites given their current situation, but fans can always dream.
Whatever happens, the Premier League stage is made for the all-action forward, who glides with the ball and looks effortless in his game when driving at defences.
