Sky pundit says it’s ‘incredible’ what’s happened to ‘sensational’ Arsenal player

Kevin Campbell has claimed that Granit Xhaka’s turnaround at Arsenal in recent times has simply been ‘incredible’ and he now lets his ‘football do the talking’.

The Arsenal legend added that Xhaka has been ‘sensational’ for Mikel Arteta’s side this season after scoring once again on Sunday during his side’s 1-1 draw against Southampton.

It was his second goal in as many days after he netted against PSV in the Europa League on Thursday – both of his goals came via his so-called weaker right foot.

That’s four goals in all competitions this term for the 30-year-old and he has already bettered the tally he produced during the past three seasons.

A lot of that is down to his change in position, including Arteta allowing him to push further forward in this ever-progressing north London side.

Over the years, Arsenal have been littered with negativity and Xhaka is usually at the centre of it all, but not now, as he was praised by Campbell on Sky Sports News (23/10/22 at 2:50 pm).

“I have been really impressed with Granit Xhaka,” said Campbell. “He lets his feet and football do the talking. He has been playing sensational the season.

“Playing a little bit further forward as well, being released and he’s scoring goals. It’s been an incredible turnaround and what a finish with his wrong foot. I would have been happy with that finish.”

At the start of the season, the aim for the club would have been to get back into the Champions League after missing out right at the death last time out.

But given that they have only dropped points in two games this season and they are sitting at the top of the Premier League table, then expectations and dreams are starting the change.

Can Arteta do the unthinkable at Arsenal and stop champions Manchester City from winning three Premier League titles in a row?

Well, if they are to do that then they have to put up 90+ points and players like Xhaka need to continue this fine form because it’s proving to be game-changing.
