Andy Robertson has been lavishing praise upon Alisson Becker – via Liverpool’s official club website.
The Scottish left-back waxed-lyrical about his goalkeeper after a tremendous performance against Manchester City at the weekend.
Alisson was at his brilliant best against the Cityzens making a string of excellent saves, but it was his work with the ball that caught the eye more than anything else.
Indeed, Alisson grabbed an assist for the only goal of the game, and after the match Robertson lauded him for his ability.
Robertson even went as far as to say that the Liverpool squad had let Alisson down throughout this season.

Robertson feels Liverpool have let Alisson down
Robertson spoke about his goalkeeper.
“Ali on the ball is unbelievable and you have to trust him in those moments,” Robertson said.
“It came from their corner or free-kick and Ali has got it in his hands and you trust him to make the right decisions.
“It’s something we trust Ali with, he’s unbelievable with the ball at his feet. He’s got great vision as well and when he sees something, then we have to react off it and we all pushed up and luckily the ball has ended up in the back of the net.
“I think Ali’s the best in the world for sure in what he does. We’ve all probably let him down this season in that he’s faced too many shots, he’s had to be making too many saves. I think he’ll be a lot happier.”
Powerless
Liverpool haven’t been at their best for parts of this season, but one player who can’t be knocked is Alisson.
The Brazilian has barely put a foot wrong since he arrived at Anfield in 2018, and that has continued through this season.
Sadly though, when your defence isn’t providing adequate cover, you’re going to concede goals, and with the standard of finishing being so high these days, he’s not stood a chance at saving many of the shots he’s conceded.
Alisson has been a constant shining light in a dull time for Liverpool, and while we’re not going to say that he’s been let down by his teammates, that’s an opinion that Robertson clearly holds.
