Italian website CalcioMercato.TV claim that Tottenham are looking at a move for Juventus captain Leonardo Bonucci ahead of the January market, with the report claiming he “will leave” in the January transfer window.
Juventus are really struggling both domestically, and in Europe. While they did secure a 1-0 win in the Turin derby on Saturday, thanks to Dusan Vlahovic’s later winner, they still sit in a lowly eighth place. Just four wins from 10 games.
In the Champions League, Juve have managed to win only once in four games, losing three. Their Champions League qualification hopes are dwindling, and the aim will be to qualify for the Europa League. Bonucci is not impressed.
The Juventus icon, who is 14 games shy of a half-century with the club, is now said to be keen on leaving. Max Allegri is open to the £198,000-a-week star’s exit. It would see the Juventus connection go stronger at Tottenham.

Tottenham are said to be keen and it would see Bonucci reunite with five Tottenham figures. Players Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, as well as Antonio Conte – and sporting director Fabio Paratici.
Tottenham looking at Bonucci: He ‘will leave’ Juventus
Still producing performances that see him as one of Juve’s best players in a dark spell, Bonucci is more than capable of providing Eric Dier with some top-level competition. Spurs currently lack cover for Dier, in the middle of defence.
Conte recently spoke of how Dier is difficult to rotate – given his form. He suggests Romero and Davinson Sanchez as replacements – but Romero starts on the right and Sanchez is hardly trusted. Bonucci would be a superb addition.
Whether Bonucci will leave Juventus, and whether Juve will allow him to leave, is another question. He will surely want to get to 500 games for the club he loves. But, if the form continues to drop, perhaps, Bonucci could move to London.
