Leeds United want Kai Wagner and the Philadelphia Union star has now been nominated for a prestigious award in Major League Soccer.
The Whites have claimed just two points in their last six Premier League games and boss Jesse Marsch is under pressure.
Leeds may well look to add more new signings to his squad in January and a left back may yet be on the wish list.
Pascal Struijk has filled in admirably at left back this season but is a centre back by trade.
Junior Firpo is back from injury but he didn’t exactly shine last season so another left back could be lured to Elland Road.

Leeds United want Kai Wagner
The main name linked in that area of the pitch is Philadelphia Union star Kai Wagner.
Brotherly Game reported in August that Union boss Jim Curtin had held talks with Marsch over a deal that would see Wagner join Leeds.
MLS reporter Tom Bogert has since claimed that Wagner is ‘absolutely’ expected to be sold to a European club in the January window.
Bogert did though add that it will now be difficult to sign Wagner because other clubs have joined the race since Leeds failed to secure a summer deal.
The 25-year-old racked up eight assists in 33 MLS games this year and has really impressed as an attack-minded left back.
Leeds may well fancy signing the German and they will surely be interested to know that he is now up for an award over in the United States.
Wagner has been nominated for the MLS Defender of the Year award, alongside Union teammate Jakob Glesnes and New York City FC star Alex Callens.
Past winners of the award include Walker Zimmermann, Ike Opera, Aaron Long and Matt Hedges, meaning Wagner could be the first non-American winner of the award since Laurent Ciman in 2015.
Wagner’s profile and reputation would only be enhanced by winning this award and Leeds may well find other clubs in the mix come January.
