Rodrigo Becao is reluctant to sign a contract extension with Serie A high-flyers Udinese after attracting interest from Premier League duo Everton and Tottenham Hotspur, according to Messaggero.
Nine games in, the Serie A table certainly makes for interesting reading. And not just because a Napoli side who appeared to be in crisis mode only a couple of months ago are leading the way; 21 points out of a possible 27 to their name.
Atalanta are in second. Lazio third, with Roma, Inter, AC Milan and Juventus nowhere to be seen. Perhaps the biggest coupon-buster of all, however, is Udinese in fourth. La Zebrette have finished in the bottom half of the table every single year since 2013 but that miserable run could come to an end, with Gerard Deulofeu, Beto, Roberto Pereyra and the Tottenham-bound Destiny Udogie taking Serie A by storm.

Powerhouse centre-back Becao, meanwhile, continues to enhance his reputation following summer links with Everton and Spurs.
Could Udinese’s Rodrigo Becao still end up at Tottenham Hotspur or Everton?
Everton held talks with the £17 million-rated Brazilian in July before opting for a proven, Premier League operator in former Wolves skipper Conor Coady (Gianluca di Marzio). Becao was also on Tottenham’s radar; Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici making excellent use of the Italian market.
Whether Spurs or Everton renew their interest in the New Year is anyone’s guess. The latter certainly could; Yerry Mina’s Goodison Park future once again being called into question. Michael Keane may also push for a move after falling out of favour under Frank Lampard.
Becao, meanwhile, has less than two years remaining on his Udinese contract. And the late-blooming 26-year-old has little interest in signing an extension as things stand.
Messaggero say that Becao ‘has the ambition to prove himself’ at a higher level, and is in no mood to risk scuppering a big-money move by putting pen to paper on improved terms with Udinese.
