Arsenal want Evan Ndicka and could now battle Roma for the Eintracht Frankfurt star’s signature during the January transfer window.

The Gunners have enjoyed a remarkable start to the season, winning eight and losing one of their first nine games.

The really impressive thing is that Arsenal’s depth just looks so much better.

Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko have quality cover in Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney whilst Arsenal didn’t miss a beat when Fabio Vieira came in for Martin Odegaard at Brentford last month.

Arsenal want Evan Ndicka

One area Arsenal may look to strengthen is centre back though, and more specifically the left side of the pairing.

William Saliba has impressed on the right side but Gabriel Magalhaes has been a little more up and down on the left.

Adding another natural left-sided centre back could be a smart move in January and an intriguing link has emerged.

Il Romanista report that Roma would like to sign Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka but there is real competition from English clubs – and Arsenal are named as the main rival.

The 23-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and clubs are seemingly looking into a bargain move for Ndicka in January.

Ndicka has played as a left-sided centre back and even as a left back with Frankfurt, offering great versatility at the back.

Back in 2021, The Express reported that Arsenal had held talks with Ndicka’s representatives over a potential move to North London.

Nothing came of those talks but it seems that Arsenal have maintained an interest in Ndicka and they may now be ready to strike with a cut-price January move.

Arsenal will have a great chance to watch Ndicka in action tonight as he takes on Tottenham Hotspur, as dealing with Son Heung-min and Harry Kane may lend itself towards a Premier League move.
